Man travelled 60 miles from Coventry to dump waste in rural village

A man has been fined nearly £1,700 after flytipping more than 60 miles away from his hometown of Coventry.

Michael Cawley dumped a large pile of waste on Hall End Road in Bedfordshire.

Last July, Bedford Borough Council responded to a report of fly-tipping in an entrance to a field in Wootton. A search uncovered several items connecting the waste to Cawley.
