Arrests and vehicles seized as police target rural crime in Cumbria

An operation targeting rural crime in Cumbria resulted in three arrests and two stolen vehicles recovered by police.

On Monday, officers joined partners from the Environment Agency and Westmorland and Furness Council’s environmental protection, National Rural Crime Unit and DVSA for Operation Checkpoint.

Officers stopped over 70 vehicles, conducted 10 person and vehicle searches and inspected several quads, trailers and vehicles.
